SILVERFIN ACADEMY is a club that provides a specialized service for girls and boys at every level of swimming, from learn-to-swim(LTS) to International Level swimmers. We strive to provide a positive atmosphere in which to learn and develop the skills of competitive swimming.
SilverFin Academy is a multi-cultural non-profit swim club run by a board of swim parents with the help of American Head Coach Cari Karugireyo.
Silverfin Academy supports and welcomes swimmers with disability and provides equitable access to swimming development opportunities.
As swimmers get older and improve they will move through the squads of SILVERFIN Academy where they are exposed to more sessions per week and longer training sessions in order to continue their rate of development.
The Head Coach determines specific training groups and squads in consultation with other members of the Silverfin coaching team. Swimmers are placed according to what is appropriate for their ability. Parents should not expect that their swimmer will be placed in the group of the family’s choosing for other reasons, such as car pool purposes, established friendships, preference for time and days of a practice group, or parents’ opinion regarding the swimmer’s ability. Swimmers who show steady improvement will be moved as necessary to another group.
These moves can occur at any time in the year to accommodate the individual swimmer. Coaches will be available before and after practice for any questions that you may have about your swimmer. If your query requires detailed discussion, then it is best to contact your coach to schedule a longer appointment.
Dear Parents or Caretakers, please allow the coaches to concentrate on instructing the swimmers during training time.
